| So, it has been a fucklong time since my last update (Eric Johnson, I know you're not reading this, but that one was for you.) It's been close to six months, apparently, which I did not realize. This is mainly because I am a lazy bastard, er, I was when I was still at school. Now that I'm home, I'm just plain busy, which has delayed any chances of an update. I'm kind of glad I waited too, because, for a while, I was considering a shutdown of this site and a complete move to Blogspot. I did fire up a site over there, which is going just as slowly as my Xanga. You can check it out at theoretically-speaking.blogspot.com. It is intended as my place for random humor, stories, and commentary, in the spirit of Legit, Inc., the site run by my buddies Galvin and Sabens. Xanga will remain my online journal, as I intend to run the two sites side by side.
So, what would a journal be without, well, journaly stuff? There's been way too much stuff in the past six months to fully recap, so I'll lay out a brief summary of the major happenings:
- I managed a 4.0 for the second semester in a row. That means I somehow managed an A in Theoretical Mechanics. If I haven't told you how bad that class was, this well tell you: we referred to our professor (Bradford) exclusively as Bradfuck. Well, Captain Douchebag got thrown in there a couple of times too.
- About three weeks prior to finals, I got dumped, unexpectedly and abruptly. I don't need to say any more about that.
- Pat is going to be my roommate next year, and we are going to have one pimp room. I'm not sure exactly how we're going to accomplish that, besides having lightswitch raves, but we will try, goddammit. It will also help that we got eight people together and got suites across the hall from each other, which should definitely make the semester fun.
- Or maybe the semester won't be fun, since I'm taking 18 credits, which includes four math classes. Not to mention I'm also going to be a Teaching Assistant and a tutor. I'm pumped about being a TA, except for having to teach at 8 a.m. Still, I'm insane.
- I have a new job, Tyco Healthcare in Argyle. I'm making almost twice as much as I do at Eddie Bauer. I inspect things all day. It's really tedious, perfect for an anal neat freak like me. The only downside is that I have to be there at 6 a.m. Oh well, all I have to do to fix that is look at my paycheck.
- I'm still working at Eddie Bauer, which puts me at 44 hours a week.
- My grandfather's in the hospital, he had triple-bypass and heart valve replacement surgery yesterday. I guess he was doing well yesterday afternoon, though I won't know for sure until my mom gets home today.
- I'm torn between a nap and watching the Red Sox game. I think I'll take a nap, I'm freaking tired. Good night everybody.

| So, I just checked out my last
post, and realized that it was written two months, one week, and five days
after the previous one. Interestingly enough, it’s been two months, one week,
and three days since I wrote that post. As I stated in my last rant, procrastination
has overcome me when it comes to Xanga. I would continue in this direction, but
you can check out the last post if you’re really that interested. I had
originally planned an entry over Christmas break, being that it would have been
a good relaxing time to undertake such matters. I thought that I would recap
the tail end of last semester and throw in whatever excitement had occurred so
far over break. It turned out that, in terms of time management, break owned me
almost as much as school. I went back to work, which was actually kind of nice,
it kept me busy and gave me some money, which is always a plus. I also hung out
quite a bit, especially in the second half of the break. These two activities
reduced my totally free time to a very small amount, which meant I just relaxed
and goofed off during such time, thus eliminating any chance of a post. I had a
quite good break nonetheless. Christmas was good, I got my bowling ball, some
games, and gift cards out the ass. Our dress-up Christmas-New Year’s-get-together-whatchamacallit
was a roaring success, it definitely needs to become a recurring event. It also
resulted in me getting possibly one of the greatest Christmas gifts ever, Darth
Tater, courtesy of Manda. He now adorns one of my bookshelves at home. So,
Christmas vacation was, all in all, quite good, though it went by much too
fast. Oh yes, I
almost forgot the end of last semester! The last three weeks weren’t
particularly exciting, mostly it involved us studying our asses off for finals.
The studying paid off though, and I ended up getting a 4.0 for the semester. I
even got an A in Foundations (known as Discrete Math to everyone else in the
world), the class from hell that I never dreamed I would do well in. My
bullshitting expertise apparently ended up paying off in American Politics too,
Statics stayed easy, and the Diff. Eq. final was a gift from the physics
demi-god known as Ray Toland. It ended up being an awesome semester on the
whole. This
semester looks like it will be reasonably easy, with the exception of one
class. Theoretical Mechanics is looking like it will be my 4 o’clock shit show.
The material is stuff that I would normally like, I’ve actually done some of it
before in Physics and Diff. Eq. However, the professor is not the most prolific
of teachers, and the book, well, the book…words cannot describe how much it
truly sucks. Suffice it to say it is a shit sandwich. So, other than that, I
like my classes. Linear Algebra looks like it will be my favorite,
mmm…matrices. Calc III will definitely be up there too, Statistics will
probably be pretty interesting, especially since Prof. Hooper is awesome.
Accounting probably won’t be quite as interesting, but it will at least be
easy. I actually
haven’t had all that much work this semester, which I am not sure is a bad
thing. I think it’s generally better for my work ethic when I am being bent
over by professors with homework, but we’ll see. This week could be
interesting, I have an Accounting quiz, a Calc III test, and homework in every class.
Lovely… Well, it’s
almost time for dinner, so I should probably go find Hannah. I will most likely
have to wake her up, how she can sleep so much, I do not know. But oh well, ya
gotta do what ya gotta do. And I will try to post again, sooner this time. My
New Year’s resolution already went down the shitter, but I will still try to
live up to it.

Hmm, so it’s been two months, one week, and five days since
my last update. I never thought I would actually go that long without posting,
and I apologize to all of you who have been waiting to hear if I am still alive
or not. I’ve found that the longer you wait to write, the harder it is. You
have more to write, so it takes even more time than it would have in the first
place, and it’s so much harder to remember everything that you originally
wanted to say. In other words, I’ve come to the realization that I am a
horrible procrastinator, at least when it comes to Xanga, and that
procrastination is an easy way to fuck yourself.
So, where did I leave off last time? Oh yes, it was the
first week of classes last time I posted. So, what’s that, two thirds of a semester
to fill you all in on? This should be interesting, trying to remember
everything interesting from the past two months…
I should probably start on the social side of things, with
the most important development of this semester, which would be me meeting a
very special girl named Hannah. Some of you have already met her, others of you
have no doubt heard about her. She is incredibly sweet and caring and
intelligent and cute and any other positive adjective you could throw in there.
I’m so happy and lucky to have her right now.
The rest of the social life is going well too. The suite is
working out well, with Rodney, Pat, and Pat. We actually moved some stuff
around, three of the beds are over in the Batcave, and all the desks and my
stuff are over here in my room. It’s worked out pretty well, except for some
small conflicts around bedtime. We’ve had several bowling nights, Family Guy
marathons, and hockey games, along with our usual geeky video game and computer
stuff. But it’s been going well.
Classes have been going quite well too, though it will be
quite a miracle if I can get that 4.0 that I’ve been coveting. Statics is
freaking easy, probably because I’m pretty sure my professor is senile.
American Politics is easy as well, its basically just reading, class
discussions, and a couple of tests. Professor Hinchman is pretty interesting to
listen to as well. We’ve had some interesting discussions the past few days in
there, particularly about social welfare programs and the rich vs. poor debate.
You can expect a rant on that sort of stuff sometime soon, especially since
Republicans have been pissing me off daily lately…
Differential Equations is my favorite class, probably
because I’m sick and twisted like that. Everyone else hates it. It probably also
helps that I have Prof. Toland again, I enjoyed my days in Calc II with him.
Modern Physics is also turning out to be really easy, though I don’t think I’m
learning as much as I would have liked to. There’s not much work associated
with the class, so I don’t use the formulas or concepts much, and Professor
Sokolov’s lectures are pretty much worthless. I read the textbook for the
duration of class yesterday, and learned more than I have in any of his
lectures for the whole semester. Modern Physics Lab, on the other hand, is a
really good class. We’ve done some good experiments, and we’ve actually learned
some stuff from Dr. Roy. He’s an awesome professor, he actually explains things
thoroughly, and he’s quite helpful if you go to see him outside of class (he’s
the first professor I’ve gone to see for help)…
The last of my classes makes me shudder. Foundations, which
is known as Discrete Math at most any other college, is the bane of my
existence. It’s actually gotten better over the past week or two, but it is
still my least favorite, and by far my worst class. The material actually isn’t
all that bad, I could see myself enjoying it, but it’s presented in such a
boring manner. Prof. Alhakim’s lectures are confusing, and he gives us some of
the hardest problems he can find for homework and quizzes. It’s kind of funny,
I’ll look at something in the book, and think, “Well that’s easy,” and end up
with a 70 on the homework. I was in serious danger of ending up with about a C
until the last test, when I somehow pulled a 100 out of my ass. It’s kind of
funny, I get my first perfect test this semester in my worst class. Hopefully,
the final will be easy, so I can bring my grade up a little higher…
Speaking of which, finals are only about three weeks away.
Scary.
I actually cannot wait to go home on Tuesday. I’m not really
sure why, Hannah and I went home a couple of weeks ago. I think I just need a
few days away from the hectic environment that I have here. I need to relax,
I’d like to read for once, just catch up on stuff that I don’t get to do while
I’m here. It’ll be good to recharge and see my peeps again. Oh, and not to
mention, Thanksgiving Morning Breakfast!
I went to the school bookstore yesterday and got my
Christmas shopping effectively done. The family’s done, most of the friends are
done. I just need to shop for Hannah now. Oh well, I’ll get that done while I’m
home…
To paraphrase Stewie Griffin, I feel so deliciously evil,
I’m listening to the Imperial March from Star Wars right now…
There’s a hockey game tonight, I can’t wait. I missed the
RPI and Union games when I went home two weeks
ago, so I’m starved for hockey. Especially since the NHL sucks now. Clarkson
does not disappoint though, the games are always exciting. Let’s go Tech. Oh,
and, umm, yeah, BONESAW!!!!!!
Hopefully the weekend will be good as well, though I do have
some work to do for Monday and Tuesday. But, I’m done Tuesday at 9:15, and then
I can come home. I’ll probably see many of you then, or shortly thereafter.
Until then, peace out.

at first, but then you realize you’re only fucking yourself.”

| Wow, you can tell it's been a long time since I updated, Xanga didn't
have all this stuff the last time I got on here! It has indeed been far
too long, of course I've also been far too busy since I got back to the
big CU...
Moving in was, umm, interesting. Bringing stuff up went quickly, as I
had Pat and Pat to assist me. I had way more crap than I thought to get
in here, but I somehow found a home for all of it. It took about three
days for me to get everything situated, but I had a place for
everything, and I really, really enjoy the setup of my room right now.
It's quite cozy and colorful ...
The major problem during moving in was the fact that our refrigerator
didn't work when we got it here. I was pissed when I discovered that,
as I had mucho stuff that needed to be kept cold. Pat kept it in his
fridge for me though, while we waited for another one. Needless to say,
I had almost nothing cold to drink for a week. It sucked. But Rodney
came back with one this past weekend, it's even bigger than the old
one. So that problem is solved, and the suite is pretty much complete...
Rodney and Pat and I spent most of last week addicted to Halo 2
. It was very time consuming, but our triumvirate did in fact
defeat the game. It was quite exciting...
Gunnar just stopped by. It still seems kinda weird seeing Fort Ann people around here...
Classes are going quite well, I think I'm going to like all of them.
Statics is basically Physics I all over again, but with a really old
professor. American Politics is pretty interesting, and really easy so
far. Foundations (i.e. Discrete Math) looks to be the bitchiest of the
classes, though I do enjoy logic and set theory. It's just tedious, and
Prof. Alhakim is a little hard to understand. Differential Equations
will probably be one of my favorites, because I'm a masochist like
that. Dr. Toland always makes it interesting anyway. Modern Physics has
me really excited, it's all about Relativity and Quantum Mechanics, my
favorite part of science. Ever. The lab that goes with is good too, Dr.
Roy is awesome. The work load isn't terrible yet either, so I think the
academic side of this semester will be pretty good...
Went over to the Townhouses with Pat and Galvin to hang out with some
people on Friday night. That was pretty cool, except Galvin jumped in
the kiddie pool and ruined his cell phone. Saturday night, the three of
us and Johnson and Dan from across the hall restarted our bowling
league from last semester. We had a good time, except I bowled the
worst game that I have ever bowled. Then we came back and hung out in
my room for a while...
Later on that night, our dumpster blew up. Like literally burst into
flames and the lids blew off. The flames were shooting up to the second
floor, and Campus Safety attempted to put it out with a fire
extinguisher . It was scary at the time, but now it's really
funny when we tell people about it...
Since the spontaneously combusting dumpster, it's pretty much been just
homework and classes. Not bad, but not exciting either. Though I must
go retrieve my laundry, it should be just about dry by now...I will
post again soon.
